Staying Multiple Weeks

As long as it is age appropriate for your child, we do accept requests for campers to stay multiple weeks. Free laundry service is provided for campers staying more than one week.

Camp Policies

Camp Administration reserves the right to reject an applicant or to send home any boy or girl whose influence is considered injurious to the best interest of the camp and/or campers. Due to safety and health concerns we request that campers not bring Walkmans, Gameboys, MP3 players, Cellular phones, jewelry, knives, guns, ammunition, fireworks, tobacco, alcohol or drugs to camp.

Medical Help & Safety

We meet the requirements of the American Camping Association (ACA) and Christian Camp & Conference Association (CCCA) for medical supervision. The water supply, lodging facilities and food services are inspected and approved by the State health department. Important: Your health history form, sent to you with your parent pack, must be brought to camp with you, along with a copy of both sides of your medical insurance card.

Faxing Applications

Faxed applications must provide payment by credit card and be accompanied by Consent and Authorization Form (back side of application). Fax (630) 734-0929

Camp Akita Store

At our store, campers may buy Camp Akita mementos including postcards, water bottles, T-shirts, etc. We suggest $25 - $30 spending money that can be sent with the application to put on your child's account. We encourage campers to keep their money in the camp store bank for safe keeping. Whatever money is not spent (minus loose change that is automatically put in the Camp Akita “campership fund”) will be returned at the end of the week along with detailed account of expenditures. Opportunity is given for campers to give a portion of their money to the “campership fund” as well.

Cabinmate Request

Friends signing up for the same session of camp may request the same cabin. Every effort will be made to accommodate those requests.

Registration, Drop-off and Pick-up Times

Registration on Sunday is from 1:30 -4:30 pm. Our staff is committed to making your child's week at camp the best that it can be. They are totally involved with camp preparation details and cannot accept early registration or have parents drop off their children before 1:30 pm. Those picking up campers should arrive between 9:00 - 11:00am.
